WHO AM I?

I Who Am? Wait, sorry that was my dyslexia typing. What I meant to say is “WHO AM I?” This is one of life’s most defining questions, and I have asked myself this countless times. So, let me tell you my story.
I've always known I was “different.” Some people call it odd, and others call it weird or quirky. No matter how you frame it, I’ve always known there was something unique about me.
When I was in fifth grade, I was diagnosed with Orthographic Dyslexia (A subtype of dyslexia where I misspell, misread and mispronounce words and sentences.) Once I had this diagnosis alongside my ADD, I started tutoring where I learned to work twice as hard and long as the “average” student to earn the grades I desired.
My learning disabilities used to be something I viewed as a weakness, but I now know it as an advantage because it is why I am driven and have such a strong work ethic.
And, although I am still described as quirky by those who don’t know me, I now embrace the fact that I am different, and I love it.
All of this led to my passion for creative storytelling and strategy. Just because I don’t always spell and read things the “normal” way does not limit me in pursuing my passions. I want to work for a creative team that values weirdness and dyslexia and understands that my uniqueness is a strength which helps me bring a new perspective with fresh ideas to the projects I work on and puzzles I solve.
