HOW TO BE A G @ GOODUNITED

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this past May, I quickly packed my bags and moved to Charleston, SC to intern for GoodUnited. As my time here comes to an end and a new chapter begins (my month-long solo trip to Europe) I wanted to highlight one of GU's core virtues that stood out to me the most:
"Fiercely take care of one another"
I have never, and I mean NEVER, experienced such a positive, welcoming, innovative, and accepting work culture - it is simply unmatched. As an eager and energetic intern freshly out of college, I was ready to get my hands dirty and dive right into whatever I could. My various mentors graciously guided me through the intricacies of our product, clearly explained our VPD, and made sure I learned much as possible while always keeping my best interest in mind.
From a team-building ropes course experience to a delicious team outing at Leon's Oyster Shop as well as a birthday party for the books, I have never met a group of employees who care so deeply about one another and everyone's personal and professional growth. It has been truly inspiring.
For example, how often do you find someone (@GarrettAstles) willing to change a tire in the pouring rain for their coworker?

To think I was seconds away from skipping an information session on a random Tuesday night, led by the legendary @NickBlalck accompanied by @HalleFrain @CourtneyKlemcke, and @GabeLopez, is baffling considering how HUGE of an impact this company has had on me.
So this is me, giving a big fat thank you, to EVERYONE at GoodUnited for igniting the fire within me and showing me how important and rewarding it is to democratize the nonprofit supporter experience. This has been a dream I never knew I had, and I hope to see everyone soon (after returning from Europe!)
